About Lise Villeneuve...the short version

After graduating with Honors from the University of Alberta’s Campus St-Jean (Psychology Major), Lise moved to Montréal to pursue a career in singing / songwriting en français. After winning first prize at the Tremplin International de la Chanson Francophone in Paris in 2003, Lise was invited to perform her songs in a 9-country, 11-city solo tour in Asia and the Middle-East. As phenomenal and exhilarating as this tour was, it was also emotionally demanding, and it became the catalyst for Lise’s personal awakening in 2004. As a result of this deep, ongoing transformation, Lise’s focus and passion has shifted from songwriting and performing to creating resources that bring more awareness and mindfulness into this world. Her latest work is Wise Willy's Secret Manual to Become a Mindful Superhero.

"Lise Villeneuve's approach to teaching mindfulness is unique and effective. With her Mary Poppin's type bag of tools, metaphors and examples, Lise has been able to help seniors learn the principles of Mindfulness that they can apply to their lives. For several, these tools have been life changing. Teaching how to control emotions, reduce chronic pain, and cope with the kinds of issues seniors face on a daily basis, has made a measurable impact on the seniors at the Edmonton Seniors Centre. If you have a chance to hear her speak or take one of her classes, I encourage you to avail yourself of the opportunity. It can change your perspective and your life."

About Lise Villeneuve...the detailed version

From a very early age, Lise has been fascinated by the big questions like "Who am I?", "Why am I here?", "What is this existence all about?" and "How can we increase our happiness and reduce our suffering?"

This burning curiosity first led Lise to the University of Alberta, where she obtained a Psychology degree. During these formative years, Lise deepened her understanding of the mind, human emotions, coping mechanisms, developmental psychology, mental illnesses and much more. Although this academic knowledge was extremely useful and shed much light on human behavior, it could not answer the deeper, metaphysical questions of existence, philosophy and spirituality.

When she was in her early twenties, Lise's focus gradually shifted from psychology to world religions and spirituality: the ego, non-duality, quantum mechanics, the body-mind-spirit connection and more. Inspired by this well of wisdom and knowledge she tapped into, Lise felt moved to express her heart-opening discoveries through music.

The next ten years of Lise's life were dedicated to singing, songwriting, touring around the world, producing an album and publishing a book in French about living from the heart. As extraordinary as this musical odyssey around the globe was for her, at times it felt like an emotional roller coaster ride of highs and lows. This led Lise to ask herself "What is genuine success?" and "What should true success feel like?"

The decade of motherhood that followed turned out to be Lise's greatest spiritual teacher. It was an intense practicum in presence, conscious parenting and learning to surrender to life. Through it all, Lise continued to diligently explore and study health and wellness, mindfulness, energy healing and self-realization. In 2012, she became a certified Reiki Master, and in 2015, Lise was certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York as a health and wellness coach.

Utilizing her rich life experience as a traveling musician, author, businesswoman, mother and relentless spiritual seeker with a degree in psychology, Lise started regularly counseling and coaching the individuals and groups that came to her for guidance starting in 2015. The same year, she wrote the Conscious Kids Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy Program. Lise taught this program to young families in-person for a few years - up until Covid hit - and she created the Conscious Kids Certification Program to allow others to share the gift of mindfulness with as many kids as possible. Lise shared mindfulness with seniors as an Instructor at the Edmonton General Hospital and she is regularly asked to give workshops and presentations to groups of all ages. She is passionate about using her creative talents to share the wisdom and knowledge she acquired over her lifetime in ways that are effective, clear and fun.
